Disclaimer-Blah blah you know the drill

1,000 years ago Enno Ozuno called forth Zenki, Lord of all the Demons, to defeat the evil forces threatening to take over the world. Little did anyone know that around that same time the followers of the evil Karma had called forth their own demon...

"If we have our own demon we will be able to defeat Zenki, and the great Karma will take over the world with the seeds of possesion!" the high priest of the Karma shrine cried, pumping his fist into the air.

The followers cheered at the thought of having their beloved Karma ruling the world.

Soon after that, the ceremony began. There was a great bonfire with spirit wards surrounding it to contain the demon once it had been called forth. THe high priest's face glowed eerily by the firelight as he chanted a strange incantation. The fire grew to a monsterous height as the flames licked the night air. Soon all the followers took up the chant. The fire exploded as a figure burst forth from it. They abruptly stopped chanting and gazed in awe at the creature. She stared down at them in disgust as she hovered above the diminishing fire.

"Why have you summoned the Great Daige?" she bellowed, her imposing figure made some of the Karma followers cringe in fear.

The high priest stepped forward boldly."I have summond you so that you can become my servant, and then you can defeat Zenki and Karma will rule the world!"

Daige looked at him for a moment and then laughed. "Hah, a mere mortal shall be *my* master? I think not. On top of that, I would never betray my lord Zenki." Her laughter shook the earth—this was a show of her evident power.

The high priest shook in rage. "We'll see who will be laughing in just a few minutes!" he cried, pulling out a somewhat large ring from his cloak. He sealed the ring with a spell.

Daige felt a jolt run through her body as she began to become a servant to the ring. Her eyes burned red with anger. "I will devour you for your insubordination!" she howled as she propelled herself toward him. The spirit wards zapped her. The high priest's binding spell was near completion. Daige waved her hand and the spirit wards were burned to ashes. Just then the high priest's spell was finished. Quickly he slipped the ring on.

"Stop!" he commanded Daige; she was just inches from him when she did.

"I... I can't move!" she cried.

The high priest cackled, backing away slowly, "Yes, of course you can't. Don't you see? You are now my servant and must do as I command."

Daige shook and all of a sudden busted free. "I am NO ONE'S servant!" she shrieked.

The priest reached behind him. He grabbed a small pouch from behind his back and threw it at the demon, she slashed at the bag angrily. Her sharp claws shredding it instantly. As soon as she did this, a dust flew into the air and landed all over her. The high priest yelled out a spell as the dust landed on her. She could feel herself shrinking.

"No! How can this be?" were her last thoughts before she passed out.

Daige opened her eyes slowly. Her eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness around her. All that had happened came flooding back to her. She snarled, "When I get my hands on him, he's dead meat." She strode forward but was yanked backwards by some very restrictive chains. When she tried to use her demon power to break free, she soon found that she couldn't. Something was wrong. She looked down at her body. It had shrunk a great deal. She cried out in frustration as she struggled to get free. "Damn," she growled. She sat silently for a moment, and her ears pricked when she heard a familiar voice.

"Tomorrow is the day when Zenki shall be defeated, and Enno Ozuno will fall," the high priest shouted.

There were cheers from the crowd. Daige huddled into a little ball. "How can I get away before tomorrow, when my powers have been reduced to nothing?" she thought to herself.

Outside her tent, the high priest continued, "All of these events shall come to pass now that we have our own demon. I am empowered to control her through this!" the high priest waved the ring he was wearing through the air. "The Ring of Protection!" he finished dramatically.

"Of course! That's the only way he can control me, if I can get my hands on that ring I can get away!" Daige smiled. She took off her headband and used one of the points on it to pick the locks that bound her.

Late that night, Daige snuck stealthily through the camp. She tipped over slightly when she saw the high priest's tent. It was the most extravagent tent in the entire camp. The fabric that made up the tent was pure gold. "Geez... pampered much?" Daige muttered as she crept closer.

She halted when she saw two guards standing in the front. She snuck around back and went under the tent there. "Gee, that was hard," she said sarcastically. She peered across the room. There he was, snoring away. His hand with the ring on it hung over the bed's edge. She, somewhat easily, slid the ring off of his finger. She smiled because she knew that only good-hearted people could wear the ring without it easily being removed. "You should have read the sealing spell more closel, my friend," she snickered as she went out the way she had entered.

She breathed in her freedom as she entered out into the night air.
