Chiaki: 19
Akira: 15
Zenki (physically): 18-20

Fan Fiction Background: Zenki was changed human when a powerful new spell of Chiaki's went wrong, when they were fighting a very powerful Karma beast. It was supposed to make the beast very weak, and it got him, but Zenki was attacking it at the same time, so some of the spell got him, too, and instead of making him really weak and draining all his energy, it just made him a mortal for a few days, maybe a week. But who cares about the plot? It's yaoi!

Note: Kazue is NOT in this fic, because I hate Kazue, as I am sure so do many loyal Zenki fans. Anyway, she would just get in the way.

Chapter 1

Zenki was not enjoying his first day as a human. How long would he be this way, anyway? He felt as helpless as he had in his kid form as a demon god. And now as a human he felt so vulnerable. Not that he would ever admit it to anyone. He so felt strange and—  "YOU STINK! UGH!" Chiaki held her nose and herded Zenki into the bath. "Akira's in there— he'll help you wash up— UGH!" Chiaki shoved Zenki into the bath and slammed the door behind her.
Zenki stopped at the edge of the bath. Suddenly Akira was there. "Oh, hi, Zenki-san." He smiled. "Take off your clothes and get in!"
Zenki pulled off his shirt and pants. He hadn't gotten any underwear yet. Chiaki said she was working on it. Said it made her look like a slut to shop for men's underwear. Bitch. It was her fault he was human.
Zenki stepped into the bath. It was pleasantly warm. He slid in next to Akira. "Ahhhh ... this is nice, huh Akira?" Zenki turned to smile at Akira, then quickly looked back when he realized he was naked. Zenki kept his eyes front.
"Sure is, Zenki-san." Out of the corner of Zenki's eye he saw Akira looking at him. Zenki slid over. Zenki turned his back to Akira and looked straight ahead. Why did this make him so uncomfortable?
"Hey, Zenki-san, what's wrong? We're both men, right?"
Zenki laughed nervously. "You're right." He turned to face Akira. "No reason we can't talk, right?" Zenki stared at Akira's face. "So um ... what do you wanna have for dinner?"
Akira licked his lips hungrily. Zenki became even more uncomfortable.
"You, Zenki-san."
Zenki braced his arms against the edge of the bath. "Wha— what was that?"
Akira edged closer to Zenki. "Do you know how sexy you are?"
Zenki kept his eyes on Akira. "A— Akira ...?"
Akira kept creeping closer. Zenki didn't move back as he kept coming. Akira moved his head toward Zenki's. Closer, and closer. And Zenki let him. Their lips touched, and so began a long, passionate kiss. Zenki pulled Akira closer to his body. Akira wrapped his arms around Zenki and then pulled his legs around him as well. Zenki felt feelings he had never felt before ... with anyone, let alone Akira. It must be this humanity. He didn't want to resist it. Akira ran his tongue over Zenki's lips and face. Zenki smiled. Oh, how pleasant this feeling was.
"I have wanted you for so long, Zenki," Akira whispered.
Zenki ran his fingers through Akira's hair. "Me, too."

"Was your bath good, Zenki?" Chiaki asked, smiling at the towel-clad Zenki.
Zenki nodded silently, stealing a quick glance at Akira, who was walking calmly past Chiaki in his robe.
"He's very clean, now, Master."
"Good, Akira-kun. Thanks for helping him, he's so incapable."
"No, not really, Master." Akira smiled. "Hey, Zenki-san, come on, and I'll help you get dressed."
"Zenki's clothes are in his room. You have underwear now, Zenki!"
Zenki smiled shyly and followed Akira. What's up with Zenki? Chiaki wondered. He sure is acting weird...

As soon as they were in Zenki's room, Akira gently shut the door behind him. He turned to Zenki. He threw off his robe and his form changed to Goki's. He pressed up against Zenki. "Akira's had his turn. Now it's mine," Goki said, kissing Zenki's neck.
Zenki put his hand of the back of Goki's neck.
"Goki ... my dear, faithful companion," Zenki murmured.
Zenki's towel dropped to the floor. "Is this what it's like to ... love?" Zenki asked, as Goki wrapped his body around Zenki's.
Goki smiled. "Yes, Zenki. This is what it's like ..." Goki ran his fingers over Zenki's face.
Chiaki walked in, her eyes shut tight. "Um, guys? I thought you might want this comb."
Goki and Zenki both froze, and watched Chiaki blindly drop the comb on the floor. "Going now," she announced, backing out, her eyes still shut. She closed the door.
Goki let out a large breath, panting heavily.
"What would Chiaki do if she ... saw us?" Zenki asked quietly.
Goki smiled and pressed himself closer to Zenki. "I don't know what Master would do. It's kind of exciting, don't you think? It's ... dangerous."
A chill ran down Zenki's spine. Goki ... just the way he talked ... it was so sexy and enticing.
Goki kissed Zenki's chest. "Mmmm ... your human body is delicious, Zenki," Goki said softly.
Zenki stroked Goki's silky hair and ran his hand down his back and let it rest on Goki's slim waist. Goki …

Chiaki glanced over at Zenki's room. They were taking so long. Stupid Zenki. Why couldn't he just let Akira dress him? She would do it herself ... if Zenki wasn't a man, of course. Chiaki blushed deeply, the image of an unclothed Zenki forming in her head.
"Chiaki!" Saki slapped Chiaki on the back of the head with a paper fan. "What exactly are you thinking about? Nothing sinful I hope. By the shade of your skin ..." Saki smiled.
Chiaki turned around and smiled at her grandmother. "Nothing sinful, obaa-chan," she lied. She glanced over her shoulder at Zenki's bedroom door. "If Zenki wasn't so stubborn, he'd be dressed by now and he could help out!"
Saki smiled. "I'll make some tea to be ready when they come out. It is a cold time of year, after all."
"Okay, obaa-chan. Oh, and I gave them that comb so Akira can comb out Zenki's hair. That could be why they're taking so long."

Twenty minutes later, Zenki and Akira emerged. Zenki's hair was still tousled. It hadn't been combed. Chiaki laughed. "It takes you that long to get dressed, Zenki?"
"Master, we were towel-drying Zenki-san's hair."
"Oh. Um, we made some tea for you guys, but it's pretty cold now. I'll put some more on."
Zenki shivered. "It is cold today," he stated.
Akira placed his hand on Zenki's shoulder and rubbed it rapidly. "You'll feel better once you have some hot tea in you, Zenki-san."
Zenki smiled at Akira. He wanted to embrace him again. That warm, familiar body. But he couldn't. Not here. He had accepted that Akira was Goki, Goki was Akira. And he had known Goki for an eternity.
Zenki couldn't take his eyes off Akira. He had seen him, everyday, for years. But that was through his old eyes. His new eyes ... his human eyes ... saw something more.
Akira's blue hair shimmered as he turned his head toward Zenki. "What is it, Zenki-san?"
Zenki smiled and turned his head toward Chiaki. "Nothing." He had ... for a time, been seeking love with that girl. That stupid shrine girl. She was always cruel to him. Why would he ever love her? She would never kiss him as passionately, with the warmth that Goki could. She couldn't embrace him and warm his entire body. Her voice was high and whiny, not smooth and hypnotic like Goki's. Her hair was rough and spiky, while Goki's was smooth as silk. Goki's eyes seemed to hold the entire universe within, whereas Chiaki's were dark. Cold darkness. Zenki's only love, his only saviour, was Goki. Goki, who had been right in front of his face for all these years. Zenki could bless the human emotions for these overwhelming feelings.

"Tea's ready!" Chiaki cried. She carried a cup over to Akira and Zenki.
"Really, Master, you should have let me do that," Akira said, taking the cup in a smooth motion. He brought it to his lips and drunk. Zenki watched him.
Graceful. Goki was so graceful. And beautiful.
"You want this tea or not?!" Chiaki held out a cup to Zenki.
Zenki angrily snatched the cup out of Chiaki's hand. "Yes, Chiaki."
"Hey, Zenki, why don't we drink our tea on the roof? Give your hair some time to dry out." Akira headed for the door. Zenki followed.
Chiaki watched them go. "Zenki's stuck to Akira like glue since the bath."
"He's probably just feeling strange in his human body and needs another male oni/human he can relate to. You just watch. By tonight, Zenki-dono will have pushed Akira away again."
Chiaki was silent, listening to Saki's words. Perhaps her grandmother was right.

Akira took a sip of tea and leaned against Zenki.
Zenki put his arm around Akira and pulled him close, rubbing his shoulder slowly.
Akira closed his eyes and smiled. "I love you, Zenki."
Zenki looked over at Akira's content face. "I love you, too."
Akira snuggled closer to Zenki's chest. Zenki caught a whiff of Akira's hair. God, did he smell good. Akira shifted himself so he was sitting in Zenki's lap. He then leaned his head back against Zenki's chest. Akira slowly ran his hand up and down Zenki's thigh, his touch so gentle.
Zenki let out a sigh of happiness. He closed his eyes like Akira and sipped his tea.

Chiaki absent-mindedly washed the dishes. Maybe … now that Zenki's human, I can win his heart. With his human emotions … he won't be able to control them … and he will fall in love with me! Chiaki dropped a teacup, and it shattered on the floor. She let out a cry, and was brought back to reality.
"Chiaki, please, do be careful!" Saki turned her head at the sound of porcelain shattering.
"Gomen, obaa-chan," Chiaki said quietly, picking up the pieces.
Saki sighed. "You've been like this all day, Chiaki! Just go and sweep the shrine. Zenki-dono is out there, it will give you a chance to keep an eye on him."
Oh, I'll keep an eye on him, Chiaki thought, giggling. She ran for the door and grabbed the broom on her way out.

"What was that?" Zenki asked, his body tensing.
Akira looked up at Zenki, his eyes half-closed. "What is it, Zenki?"
"I thought I heard the door shut to the house."
Akira peered down at the ground. "It's— Master!" he whispered loudly. Akira silently, carefully moved out of Zenki's lap so he was sitting next to him. Akira let out a sigh of relief, as just then, Chiaki noticed them and waved. Akira waved back, but Zenki didn't.

After about half an hour, Chiaki went back inside.
"Akira?"
"Yes?"
"What happens if a Karma beast comes?"
"Then I'll just have to fight it myself, Zenki-san. Goki and I."
"But ... what if it's really strong? What if you ... die?"
"Master won't let that happen, Zenki-san."
"You can stop calling me Zenki-san now, Akira."
Akira laughed softly. "Okay."
Zenki looked up. "Look at that. The sun is setting ..."
"Mmmm..." Akira leaned against Zenki and gazed at the sunset. "It's beautiful."
Zenki smiled and let his heavy eyelids close half way. He put his arm around Akira.
The sun at last set, and the sky became dark. One by one, the stars began to appear in the sky.
Akira looked up at Zenki drowsily. "You're getting tired ..."
Zenki yawned. "Not ... really."
Akira smiled. "Come on, Zenki, I'll take you to bed."
Zenki looked over at Akira. "You're more tired than me," Zenki said.
Akira yawned and closed his eyes. "Mmmhmmm..." His breathing became more steady, and Zenki felt Akira slump against him.
Zenki smiled knowingly and picked up Akira. He leapt off the roof softly, then took a few steps backward to keep his balance and not drop Akira. He opened the door silently.

"Zenki-dono," said a voice. The old woman.
"Oh—"
"Chiaki's in bed. I was just waiting for you and Akira to return." Saki looked over and saw Akira in Zenki's arms. "He fell asleep, ne?"
Zenki nodded. "I was just gonna— put him in his bed."
"All right."
Zenki walked through the halls, which were pitch black.
"LUUUUUUUUUU!" Zenki felt something underneath his foot. He lifted his foot and kicked the tiny pink furball. Lulupapa went flying, and Zenki heard it hit one of the walls.

"Zenki-dono," Saki began, then stopped. She got up and put Lulupapa in Chiaki's room. It ran and sat in the corner of Chiaki's room, its eyes wide. "Lulupalu!" it said quietly.
Saki closed Chiaki's door. She could just make out the silhouette of Zenki going into his room, which was filled with the light of the full moon, for the window was uncovered. Saki smiled and headed for the kitchen. She would clean up, then go bed herself.

Zenki laid Akira down in his bed, and he stirred. "Zenki ...?"
Zenki's head jerked toward Akira.
"Don't make me sleep alone tonight," Akira said in a quiet voice. Zenki smiled. He pulled his futon next to Akira's and slipped under the blanket. Akira leaned over and put his hand on Zenki's chest. Soon they were both asleep.
